One-on-One Coaching With Bob

What is Coaching?

Coaching is defined by the International Coaching Federation as “partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspired them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

Coaching helps you clarify values and goals, and develop skills to achieve those goals, and over time, getting to where you want to be in life, while also becoming the person you want to be.

How is Coaching difference from other types of support? A coach is someone who partners with you and supports you to:

  • See who you really are;
  • Discern what holds meaning and purpose for you;
  • Create goals that come alive with meaning and excitement; and
  • Reach your goals with focus and ease

Other types of assistance:

  • Therapy is healing for the past; coaching is for taking action in the present.
  • Consulting offers expert advice; coaching draws out your own expertise.
  • Mentoring offers the mentor’s wisdom; coaching uncovers your wisdom.
  • Training fulfills set learning objectives; coaching clarifies your own objectives.

None are “better” than the other. They are simply tools for different purposes.

Here’s what coaching looks like,

We will “meet” two to three times a month, for an hour. You’ll choose what you want to work on, the action steps you want to take, and set your own pace. I will help you focus your ideas into goals and action steps, offer a listening ear, give you challenging questions that make you think, and provide the support and accountability you need to follow through. Each session begins with a review of your recent “wins” and a progress report on your goals and action steps. Then we will discuss next steps, generate options, troubleshoot obstacles, and develop a set of action steps you want to take before the next appointment. You are the one who decides what you want to work on! I offer spot calls or texts, which are quick 5-minute calls you can make any time to share a win, ask for perspective or troubleshoot an obstacle.

How Effective is Online or Phone Coaching?

Many clients elect to continue one-on-one coaching for ongoing goal-setting, support, and accountability to ensure that their transformational results continue. Most coaching, regardless of the focus,  is done either online or by phone, usually in weekly or  bi-weekly sessions. I realize that to someone who is considering working with a coach for the first time, this may seem odd and wonder how effective this is as a substitute for the connections that occur in person. In fact, both formal studies as well as anecdotal reports from clients show that virtual coaching is as effective or even more effective than in-person coaching.

Coaching Packages

Are you ready to set the course, determine action steps and be held accountable to what you have decided to make happen? Through weekly private sessions, which can happen via zoom, google meet or phone, we will work together to figure out where you want to go and why, identify barriers and how to get around them and come up with clear actions for you to take that will move you forward on a weekly basis.

Currently, I offer 12-week and 6-week packages to clients.
